Absorbent paper points for drying the root canal after irrigation and before obturation. A dry canal matters before filling, and the point absorbs the remaining fluid along the whole canal. When it matches the size and taper of the last file it reaches the end of the canal, so the filling material goes into a dry canal. Colors on the end mark the size for quick selection.
