Plugger
Bondent
A double-ended plugger for compacting gutta-percha during canal obturation: a slim nickel-titanium tip on one end and a larger stainless-steel tip on the other. In vertical compaction the plugger presses softened gutta-percha against the canal walls and toward the root end for a dense fill. The slim tip is flexible and can reach deeper in curved canals, while the rigid end suits the wider part of the canal. Two tips in one instrument save changing instruments during obturation.
Key features
- Two tips on one instrument — slim NiTi and larger stainless steel
- Flexible NiTi tip — reaches deeper in curved canals
- Steel tip angled inward — easier insertion, per the manufacturer
- For vertical compaction of gutta-percha — a dense canal fill
