Broken Instrument Removal Kit
A kit for retrieving a file or instrument that has broken inside the root canal: tiny instruments expose the end of the fragment, and a gripping head holds it and draws it out. A separated instrument in a canal is one of the most challenging events in root canal treatment. According to the manufacturer, the method limits how much tooth is removed from the canal wall, preserving tooth structure, and reduces the need for long work with an ultrasonic tip. The work is done under a microscope, and the instruments come apart for cleaning and maintenance.
Key features
- Micro-trephines — expose the fragment end with controlled dentin removal
- One handle with interchangeable extractor tips — to grip and pull the fragment
- Crab-claw tweezer tip — holds fragments and foreign bodies under a microscope
- An alternative to ultrasonic tips — less risk of re-fracturing a NiTi fragment
- Comes apart easily for cleaning and maintenance
