Lead Apron
A radiation-protective apron with a lead or lead-equivalent layer that covers the front of the body of anyone who stays in the room during dental X-rays. It is meant to block scattered radiation before it reaches the body — for the patient, the assistant or anyone who remains in the room during the exposure. The back straps spread the weight so it is comfortable to wear, and proper storage (hung, not folded) protects the shielding layer. Use it according to the clinic’s radiation-safety instructions.
