A pen-style electronic local-anesthesia injector with three injection modes — fast, slow and periodontal-ligament (PDL) — for a 1.8 mL cartridge. It injects at a constant rate instead of variable hand pressure, and during the injection Dynamic Pressure Sensing (DPS) shows the pressure at the needle tip in real time. According to the manufacturer, the reading identifies entry into the periodontal ligament and starts the PDL program, helping keep the needle in position throughout the injection. A separate aspiration button, a memory chip that restores the last mode and counts injections, and a reusable 304 stainless-steel cartridge holder round out daily use.
