At a 450 mm working distance the field of view is 78 mm and the depth of field 28.4 mm — both slightly smaller than at 3.0×, in exchange for a larger image. Schott glass and an achromatic optical path give a sharp image, and the multi-layer coating resists fogging, scratches and glare. The optics flip up in one move and return to position without re-adjustment, and the loupe, on an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame, weighs 78 g.
