Disposable Alox Press Plunger
Lodden
A disposable alumina plunger for the press furnace: it pushes the softened ceramic ingot into the mold cavity of the investment ring. A fresh plunger every cycle means no ceramic residue to clean off, no contamination from a previous press and no accumulated wear that changes the pressure. According to the manufacturer it transfers pressure evenly, and no membrane or preheating is needed when pressing lithium disilicate.
Key features
- Even pressure transfer to the ceramic ingot — consistent pressing
- Single-use — no cleaning and no contamination between cycles
- Lithium disilicate with no membrane or preheating, per the manufacturer
- The manufacturer states less stress concentration and crack propagation
- Two lengths — 25 and 35 mm, 13 mm in diameter
