A separating powder for ceramic pressing, applied to the plunger face to form a barrier between the plunger and the ingot in the press furnace. Without a separator, softened ceramic can stick to the plunger, and parting them after cooling can damage the restoration or the plunger. According to the manufacturer the layer stays stable under pressing heat and pressure, gives a clean release and protects the integrity of the restoration.
