MotorTurbo
Eighteeth
A brushless electric micromotor with a compact control unit that drives 1:5, 1:1, 16:1 and 20:1 contra-angles from the same unit. An electric motor holds steady torque as the load rises, which suits controlled cutting in crown preparations and restoration removal. With a 1:5 speed-increasing head such as the E-ASP1, the bur turns at up to 200,000 rpm, and each ratio is preset so the display shows speed at the head. Four memories store speed and direction; the manufacturer states that the brushless DC motor is quieter and has a cooling system, and that its standard four-hole connector fits all types of dental units.
